~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Wheel Hat -- Wheel Cap -- Mechanic's Hat -- Mechanic's CapBasic differences in hat terminology:At Tekhelet Hats, the terms of Wheel Hats, Wheel Caps, Mechanic's Hats and Mechanic's Caps are lumped together and are all called hats instead of caps, just because it is easier..... even though a Hat has a more fixed structure, which when not in use, will normally stand up on its own -- and a Cap has a much more relaxed structure, sagging when not in use allowing it to be "crushed" or "folded" into small spaces. There is a greater difference between Wheel Hats / Caps and their cousin, the Mechanic's Hat or Mechanic's Cap. The crown of a Wheel Hat is constructed with multiple layers or pieces of fabric, depending upon the model. A Mechanic's Hat or Mechanic's Cap has a crown fashioned out of a single layer or piece of fabric. Tekhelet Hats' website continues under development. Until completed, some functions may become unavailable. We apologize for any inconvenience.... |
